Conversation with Erik Bottcher and Sam Hall

An interview with Erik Bottcher and Samantha Hall about ideas and initiatives to improve the welfare of the neighborhoods.

We enjoyed spending an hour with Erik Bottcher, running for the City council for the 3rd District in Manhattan this summer, and Samantha Hall. She helped launch an innovative Neighborhood restaurant initiative called Dinner for One More.
We discussed the imperative to ban single-use plastics. Eric explained his desire for the creative use of empty retail store-fronts as pop-up galleries and community spaces, working with ChashaMa and Art on Ave, and ideas to attract artists back to the City. We cover the need for regulatory changes to avoid incentivizing landlords to keep spaces empty. Eric also discusses his vision for the future of rooftop urban farms.

If you have any ideas on what needs to be done to revitalize the neighborhood, complete our form.
